Hints
There are several ways to play Sudoku Koubou using hints:
- (F5) Turn on Auto-marks and watch what possibilities exist for each cell.
- (F7) Turn on the "Hint on each move"
To begin use the Hint system of Sudoku Koubou, use the Actions menu, opening to Hints, and first configure what logic you'd like it to employ. Changing the logic in use while the auto-marking is turned on will update the marks live, so that you can see what the effects are.
Each "module" of logic corresponds to a method that Sudoku Koubou will scan the board and use the information gained to remove extra possibilities from open cells. Some of the advanced methods (Grid Analysis and Medusa) can be quite slow, so that they are only performed if no other active module results in a cell with just 1 possibility.
By pressing F7, you can receive a hint each time you enter a cell. You can toggle this back off again with F7 (Actions->Hints->Give Hints On Each Move)
By pressing F5, you can view the options Sudoku Koubou "sees" available on the board all at once. You can toggle this back off again with F5 (Actions->Hints->Auto-mark possibilities)
Using your own Cell Marks, (toggling F5 off) simply use SHIFT+[1..9] to change the cell marks youself instead of letting Sudoku Koubou calculate them for you.
